"Out Day" in Ghana

Yesterday was a day Ghanaian children call "Out Day." This day is always a vacation day. That is the school goes on break for a holiday. On this day food of different kinds are prepared and drinks are brought and even new cloths are brought for kids to go school for their last day at school for the break. It is one of the happiest days in Ghana for kids.

I was at Kunkua library for our usual After-School Reading Activities which started last week. Ever since we started this activity the kids are always at the library to read for themselves especially those who were not able to read or complete reading a full book.  They come to continue.  Thursdays are allocated for the librarian and helpers or Coordinator to monitor and assist kids to read.

The Out Day celebration affected the program yesterday because I was at the library at about 2pm and until 4pm students were coming home from school. I had brought some cookies along when I was going and it was distributed to all the kids that came.
